Embora o branco e os tons muito apagados, chamados de off-white, ou “tons pastéis”, sejam os eleitos pela maioria das famílias brasileiras como base para os quartos por transmitirem sensação de limpeza, paz e calmaria, não deveriam ser predominantes no quarto de um bebê levando em conta essa questão, uma vez que não exercem nenhum tipo de estímulo.

Com objetos de alto contraste, a visão do bebê é estimulada com mais frequência, desenvolvendo assim melhor a visão. Os contrastes podem estar em todos os lugares: móbiles, tapetes, pelúcias, enxoval, papel de parede ou adesivos, e porque não nos móveis, como berço e cômoda?
A cor preta é a cor da elegância, da sofisticação. Unida ao branco, temos o maior contraste possível, e no primeiro ano de vida do bebê é justamente isso que ele precisa.
Ainda é um receio para muitos que quartos infantis, ainda mais de bebês, tenham preto em suas composições cromáticas. Nos Estados Unidos e Europa é bastante comum, principalmente nos quartos de estilo Escandinavo – o que fica de gancho para um futuro post, em que falarei um pouco sobre estilos de décor infantil.

Deixo aqui para vocês o exemplo do quarto da minha filha, em que o berço preto foi o ponto de partida da decoração. O contraste se repetiu no enxoval, no tapete e nos acessórios. Por eu ser profissional da área foi grande a expectativa da família e amigos sobre como seria o quarto dela. Quando eu disse “berço preto” muitos assustaram, mas no final amaram e concordaram que sim, o ambiente ficou com um ar delicado, suave, e mais importante: único e fora do comum. Tudo é uma questão de equilíbrio.
